Herbert rode fast, laughing loud,
Neon streaks and thunder sound.
Wind in his teeth, fire in his chest,
Chasing the night, grinning his best.

Curve too sharp, fate too near,
Metal meets dusk, no time for fear.
Laid to rest with a smile so wide,
A doomgrin frozen, death’s last ride.
