Helen’s last ride was fast and fearless, her doomgrin wide as the wind howled past. He was on her way to a climate protest, her laughter defiant against the looming collapse he fought to resist. Life was uncertain, but she refused to meet it with despair—only joy, only rebellion. When the crash came, he left the world the way she lived in it—grinning, unshaken, and burning bright against the dark.
